Year of Jubilee
Every 50th year in Israel was the “Year of Jubilee” when all the land was to be restored to the original owner;
- all debts were to be cancelled;
- and all slaves were set free.
It was the year of release and deliverance:
- a time for celebration and joy when families were reunited and given a fresh lease on life.
