Deuteronomy 6:

1Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you go to possess it: 2That you might fear the LORD your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son’s son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged. 3Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you, in the land that flows with milk and honey.

4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: 7And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way [h1870], and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8And you shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9And you shall write them on the posts of your house, and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 8: 1All the commandments which I command you this day shall you observe to do, that you may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers. 2And you shall remember all the way [h1870] which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, and to prove you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments, or no. 3And he humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live4Your raiment waxed not old on you, neither did your foot swell, these forty years. 5You shall also consider in your heart, that, as a man chastens his son, so the LORD your God chastens you. 6Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways [h1870], and to fear him. 7For the LORD your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; 8A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; 9A land wherein you shall eat bread without scarceness, you shall not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you may dig brass. 10When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which he has given you.

Deuteronomy 9:12

11And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that the LORD gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant. 12And the LORD said to me, Arise, get you down quickly from hence; for your people which you have brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way [h1870] which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image. 13Furthermore the LORD spoke to me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiff necked people: 14Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.

15So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands. 16And I looked, and, behold, you had sinned against the LORD your God, and had made you a molten calf: you had turned aside quickly out of the way [h1870] which the LORD had commanded you.

Deuteronomy 11:Remember God’s Words

18Therefore shall you lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign on your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. 19And you shall teach them your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way [h1870], when you lie down, and when you rise up. 20And you shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates21That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven on the earth. 22For if you shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways [h1870], and to join to him; 23Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves. 24Every place where on the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the uttermost sea shall your coast be. 25There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you on all the land that you shall tread on, as he has said to you.

A Blessing and a Curse

26Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; 27A blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: 28And a curse, if you will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way [h1870] which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which you have not known.

29And it shall come to pass, when the LORD your God has brought you in to the land where you go to possess it, that you shall put the blessing on mount Gerizim, and the curse on mount Ebal. 30Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way [h1870] where the sun goes down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the desert over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh? 31For you shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God gives you, and you shall possess it, and dwell therein. 32And you shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.
