Whose Side Are You On?

Ephesians 6 : The Full Armor of God

10Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Why take to you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness
15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked
17   And take the helmet of salvation,

and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God

LUKE 12 : NOT PEACE, BUT DIVISION

51Suppose you that I am come to give PEACE on earth?   I tell you, No; but rather DIVISION:

I think many people hold on to a hope that 9 billion,

unified and socially conscious people,

will all step up and do their part,

make the world a better place,

and we will live in happiness and harmony one day.

This is the most dangerous and ignorant world view imaginable.

The moment you accept Christ into your life you have entered into a battleground.

1 Corinthians

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Matthew 11

 7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

“A reed shaken in the wind” is a metaphor for lack of conviction and easily swayed by public opinion.

2 Corinthians : Do Not Be Unequally Yoked (Exodus 29:45-46)

14Be you not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness? 15And what concord has Christ with Belial? or what part has he that believes with an infidel? 16And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17Why come out from among them, and be you separate, said the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18And will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, said the Lord Almighty.

Matthew 13

15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and [their] ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with [their] eyes, and hear with [their] ears, and should understand with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

συνίημι syníēmi,   understand; to put together, i.e. (mentally) to comprehend; by implication, to act piously:—consider, understand, be wise.

MATTHEW 13 : THE PARABLE OF THE WEEDS

24Another parable put he forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.26But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27So the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, did not you sow good seed in your field? from where then has it tares?28He said to them, An enemy has done this.

So 2 SEEDS were planted producing 2 DIFFERENT TYPES OF FRUIT.

Genesis 3 : The Expulsion from Paradise

24So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

 Galatians 3

26For you are all the children of God

by faith in Christ Jesus. 27For as many of you as

have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither

bond nor free, there is neither male nor female:

for you are all one in Christ Jesus.  .

‘God made them male and female.’a

7‘For this reason a man will leave his

father and mother and be united to his wife,b

8and the two will become one flesh.

c So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

9Therefore what God has joined together,

let man not separate.”

The servants said to him, Will you then that we go and gather them up?29But he said, No; lest while you gather up the tares, you ROOT up also the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest:  and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather you together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

THE PARABLE OF THE WEEDS EXPLAINED

36Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came to him, saying, Declare to us the parable of the tares of the field.  37He answered and said to them, He that sows the good seed is the Son of man;

38The field is the world;

THE GOOD SEED are the CHILDREN OF THE KINGDOM;

but THE TARES are the CHILDREN OF THE WICKED ONE;

39The enemy that sowed them is the devil;

the harvest is the end of the world;

and the reapers are the angels. 40As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be at the end of this world 41The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear, let him hear.

tare is a plant that commonly grows in fields of grain. And although it looks similar to an edible grain, it isn’t suitable for food.  In fact, many feel the specific tare, or weed, referred to in this parable is the darnel, a poisonous weed that is very similar in appearance to wheat.

They look almost identical up until near the time of the harvest.

Then you can see the tares standing tall (prideful) and the wheat boughed over (humbled)

A threshingfloor was originally “…’to tramp or stamp heavily with the feet’…” and was later applied to the act of separating out grain by the feet of people or oxen and still later with the use of a flail.

Sheaves of Grain would be opened up and the stalks spread across the threshing floor.

Pairs of donkeys or oxen (or sometimes cattle, or horses) would then be walked round and round, often dragging a heavy threshing board behind them, to tear the ears of grain from the stalks, and loosen the grain itself from the husks.

Husk, is the outer protective coating on the hull, on the fruit, on the seed, that becomes chaff.   IE…Maize’s Ear of Corn leafy outer casing shell covering grow on the yellow fruit’s shell hull.

The chaff would be blown away by the wind; the short torn straw would fall some distance away; while the heavier grain would fall at the winnower’s feet. The grain could then be further cleansed by sieving.

Joshua 24 : Choose Whom You will Serve (Deuteronomy 10:12-22)

14Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve you the LORD. 15And if it seem evil to you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Revelation 18 : Babylon is Fallen

1And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. 2And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues. 5For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double to her double according to her works: in the cup which she has filled fill to her double.7How much she has glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she said in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 8Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judges her.

Psalm 1 : The Two Paths (Matthew 5:3-12; Luke 6:20-23)

1Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. 2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. 3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. 4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

THE TRIAL OF FAITH

The outcome of the Trial of Faith is Salvation of the Soul.

In a trial, the evidence is presented to the judge.  The prosecutor lays forth evidence to accuse someone that a law was broken and deserves to receive the penalty that is stipulated in the law per the offense.

Laws are put in place for the well being of others and yourself, to keep peace and justice.  (ie for our own good)

When a verdict is declared (Judgement)

  • If found that you have not broken a law,

    • you are declared not guilty (Justified | Righteous)
  • If found that you have broken/transgress a law (Sinned)

    • you are declared guilty and condemned to punishment (Unrighteous)

Moses Law contains:

  • The Law of Righteousness & The Law of Sin and Death
  • I delight in the Law of God (Righteousness), after the inward man:  but i see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind and bringing me into captivity to the Law of Sin which is in my members.  With the mind, I myself serve the Law of God, but with the flesh, The Law of Sin
  • The sting of death is sin;
  • The strength of sin is the Law.

Moses Law defines righteousness and truth and whoever breaks one the least of the commandments, and teaches others to do so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.

No one is righteous because everyone has broken the Law.

The Law has dominion over man as long as he lives.

For as many as are under the works of the Law are under the curse: (Alchemist)

  • Cursed in everyone that does not continue in all things written in the book of the law and do them.

We are justified (declared righteous) by faith in Christ, in His Blood that was shed, because the Law states, there is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood.

When we abide in Him, through Faith (a conviction of the truth) :

  • We are no longer subject to the wrath stipulated in the Law
  • We are not longer under the curse of the Law or Sin
  • This does not make the Law void however, it establishes the Law.

    • If we were charged with murder, and we were somehow acquitted (Grace/Mercy), this should make me even more gracious and mindful of never doing it again (obedience)

Faith is the Means by which we are Saved.

  • Christ is the End of the Law for Righteousness to anyone that believes.
  • The Cause: Grace and Mercy (a free gift)
  • The Effect : Salvation (saved from the wrath of the Law) by being declared Justified/Righteous through Faith

Moses Law is spiritual; But we are carnal, sold under sin, and subject to the judgement’s stipulated in the law, because we are all guilty.

The Law is not sin, but it gives life to it, by defining what sin is.  The Law was added because of transgressions.

Sin does not exist without the Law.

We were alive once without the Law, but when the Law came, sin revived, and we died.

It was meant for life, but since we were sinners, we found it to be death, even though it was not made to kill me,

But sin that it might appear sin, works death in me, by that which is good, that sin might become exceedingly sinful.

It distinguishes right from from wrong because it is truth.

A law does not take effect until transgressed or broken.

  • When it is transgressed, it works wrath and debt.
  • Since the Law Works Debt, through Transgressions, you are a slave to it.
  • ie  serving a prison sentence for committing a felony
  • Circumcision make you in debt to do the whole law

  Christ bought us with a price (redeemed) through His death on the cross.  Our debt has been paid.

We are now dead to the law, and alive in him.

 We are buried with him by Baptism, and raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, now being Justified in His sight.

We are planted together in the likeness of His death (a seed must die in order to become something new), and we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection.

The Law of the Spirit of Life, has made us free from the Law of Sin and Death.

What the Law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His son in the likeness of Sinful flesh for Sin, condemned Sin in the flesh, so that the Righteousness of the Law, might be fulfilled in us, who walk after the Spirit and not the flesh.

God sent him to be a propitiation for sin (where the sacrificial animal (lamb) comes under God’s wrath as it is killed), through faith in his blood.  Jesus received God’s wrath on the cross and our faith in him counts the debt and wrath satisfied.  We gain pardon and acquittal (forgiveness).  He redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us.  Not because we deserved it, through adherence to the law, but through our faith in the one who did fulfill all righteousness on our behalf.

We are reconciled to God, and brought back into covenant relationship with him, and can take part in the promises which is our hope.

Our Sins were imputed to Him.

His Righteousness was imputed to us.

He was made to be sin, who knew no sin, that we might be made righteous in Him.

The Lost Sheep (the Northern Kingdom) was divorced by God, and were in bondage to serving the penalties for disobedience.  They were no longer in covenant relationship with Him, they had no hope.

 The Law made nothing perfect but the bringing in of a better hope it did.

When we begin to understand the completeness of our justification, you can rest and rejoice in the ongoing discipline, chastening (correction), refinement, and tribulation of our sanctification (process of being made Holy).  Just as following the Law does not make you justified, neither does discipline, but is an expression of the fact that you have been reconciled to Him.

14And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things said the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;15I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you were cold or hot.  16So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth. 17Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked18I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches.

Daniel 11 : Michael’s Deliverance and the End Times   (Revelation 1:1-3)

1And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of your people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time your people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4But you, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

5Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. 6And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was on the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 7And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was on the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him that lives for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. 8And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9And he said, Go your way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand (H995); but the wise shall understand (H995).
