Numbers 15 :  The Law of Tassels

37And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 38Speak to the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put on the fringe of the borders a ribbon of blue: 39And it shall be to you for a fringe, that you may look on it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that you seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you use to go a whoring:40That you may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God.41I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.

Deuteronomy 6 :  The Greatest Commandment (Matthew 22:34-40; Mark 12:28-34)

1Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you go to possess it: 2That you might fear the LORD your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son’s son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged. 3Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you, in the land that flows with milk and honey.

4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.6And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: 7And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8And you shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9And you shall write them on the posts of your house, and on your gates.

10And it shall be, when the LORD your God shall have brought you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and goodly cities, which you built not, 11And houses full of all good things, which you filled not, and wells dig, which you digged not, vineyards and olive trees, which you planted not; when you shall have eaten and be full; 12Then beware lest you forget the LORD, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 13You shall fear the LORD your God, and serve him, and shall swear by his name. 14You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; 15(For the LORD your God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and destroy you from off the face of the earth.

16You shall not tempt the LORD your God, as you tempted him in Massah. 17You shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you.18And you shall do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which the LORD swore to your fathers. 19To cast out all your enemies from before you, as the LORD has spoken.

TEACH YOUR CHILDREN (Ephesians 6:1-4)

20And when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God has commanded you? 21Then you shall say to your son, We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: 22And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and sore, on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his household, before our eyes: 23And he brought us out from there, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swore to our fathers. 24And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. 25And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.

Matthew 22 : The Greatest Commandment (Deuteronomy 6:1-19; Mark 12:28-34)

34But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.35Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,  36Master, which is the great commandment in the law?37Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. ³⁸This is the first and great commandment.   39And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

1 Corinthians 7 :  Live According to Your Calling

17But as God has distributed to every man, as the Lord has called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches. 18Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.  19Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.  20Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called. 21Are you called being a servant? care not for it: but if you may be made free, use it rather. 22For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant. 23You are bought with a price; be not you the servants of men. 24Brothers, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God. 

JOHN 14 : JESUS PROMISES THE HOLY SPIRIT (Joel 2:28-32; John 16:5-16; Acts 2:1-13; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-7)

15IF YOU LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.

16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you. 18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but you see me: because I live, you shall live also. 20At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21HE THAT HAS MY COMMANDMENTS, AND KEEPS THEM, HE IT IS THAT LOVES ME: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22Judas said to him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world? 23Jesus answered and said to him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our stayed with him. 24He that loves me not keeps not my sayings:and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. 25These things have I spoken to you, being yet present with you. 26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you. 

27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 28You have heard how I said to you, I go away, and come again to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I said, I go to the Father: for my Father is greater than I. 29And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, you might believe. 30Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in me. 31But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

1 JOHN 1 : OVERCOMING THE WORLD

1Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loves him that begat loves him also that is begotten of him. 

 2By this we know that we love the children of God,  when we love God, and keep his commandments.

 3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount clarified the commandments even further.

Matthew 5 :The Sermon on the Mount  

21You have heard that it was said of them of old time, You shall not kill; and whoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22But I say to you, That whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whoever shall say, You fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has ought against you; 24Leave there your gift before the altar, and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25Agree with your adversary quickly, whiles you are in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison. 26Truly I say to you, You shall by no means come out there, till you have paid the uttermost farthing.

Adultery (Leviticus 18:1-30)

27You have heard that it was said by them of old time, You shall not commit adultery: 28But I say to you, That whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29And if your right eye offend you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell. 30And if your right hand offend you, cut it off, and cast it from you: for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be cast into hell. 

Divorce (Deuteronomy 24:1-5; Luke 16:18-18)

31It has been said, Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorce: 32But I say to you, That whoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.

Vows (Numbers 30:1-16)

33Again, you have heard that it has been said by them of old time, You shall not forswear yourself, but shall perform to the Lord your oaths: 34But I say to you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: 35Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. 36Neither shall you swear by your head, because you can not make one hair white or black. 37But let your communication be, Yes, yes; No, no: for whatever is more than these comes of evil. 

Love Your Enemies (Leviticus 24:17-23; Luke 6:27-36)

38You have heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39But I say to you, That you resist not evil: but whoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40And if any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also. 41And whoever shall compel you to go a mile, go with him two. 42Give to him that asks you, and from him that would borrow of you turn not you away.

43You have heard that it has been said, You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy. 44But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you; 45That you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46For if you love them which love you, what reward have you? do not even the publicans the same? 47And if you salute your brothers only, what do you more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48Be you therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Jesus commanded us to

Love God

and Love others.

 

Loving God however, means keeping, observing, and doing His commandments which is left out in many people’s theology,  as is “Fearing God”

1 Samuel 17 : David Slays Goliath

• Shekem the hebrew word for “shoulder” is also the name of a city in Canaan.  
• SHECHEM was the 1st place God appeared to Abraham,  after being called out of Babylon
• SHECHEM was where the 1st altar built to God by Abraham was  
• SHECHEM is where Jacob buried the strange gods that were with him here under this oak
• SHECHEM was where God renamed Jacob to “Israel” 
• SHECHEM was an inheritance for the son’s of Joseph. 
• SHECHEM was where Joseph and Joshua were buried 
• SHECHEM was where Joshua (“from Tribe of Ephraim”) made a covenant with Israel that they would put away strange gods and wrote Moses Law and took a great stone and set it here under this oak

Proverbs 7 :  Warnings about the Adulteress

24Listen to me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth. 25Let not your heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. 26For she has cast down many wounded: yes, many strong men have been slain by her. 27Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

The 1st example of covetousness in the bible

was in the garden of Eden.  Eve was deceived by the serpent because of covetousness and the desire in her heart 

The serpent doesn’t come to you as a big red monster with devil horns, he comes disguised in a cloak of beauty, and promises to give you everything you ever wanted

Genesis 3 :  The Serpent’s Deception (Genesis 7:1-5; Romans 5:12-21; 2 Peter 3:1-9)

Christ came to save us from our sins, and came with no beauty that we should desire him

Isaiah 53 : The Suffering Servant

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we shoulddesire^[H2530]him.

The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good.

Greed is right, greed works.

Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

Greed, in all of its forms:

greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind.

Hebrews 11 :  Faith is Being Sure

The waters we are in don’t quench our thirst.  

We are constantly chasing after the illusion.
