Revelation 1:8  “I am the Alpha (âlaph) and the Omega (taw),”
In this illustration of the “Alef & Taw,” in it’s earliest ancient form it shows us a picture of the Red Heifer (the ox head) being nailed to the “two sticks” of Ezekiel 37:16 (the stick of Ephrayim & Judah).
Messiah is the “Alef & Taw” which means “the first and the last” or “the beginning and the ending” (Revelation 1:8; 1:11; 21:6; 22:13).
Two different Greek words are used to describe the execution stake that our Messiah was crucified on.
The word for “cross” in the Strongs Concordance is “stauros” and it means “a stake, or pole.”
But another word is used for the word “tree” from Acts 5:30; Acts 10:39 & Acts 13:29.
That word for “tree” is xylon” which means a “cross-beam.”
The word “stauros” also means “self-denial” and so this gives more meaning behind some of the statements that the Apostle (Paul) made:
Messiah did not add any heavy yoke to the Torah of Moses like the Pharisees did.
He makes it easy and enjoyable to keep his commandments!

What is prophetic about this picture?
Well, what we see here is that the “stauros” that was already standing there at the execution site represents the House of Judah—-the stick that was already at home in Jerusalem.
But the “stick” who was “afar off” was Ephrayim (the prodigal son).
And so Messiah came for those Ten Northern Tribes who were “afar off” and he made the journey for them by carrying the “stick” of Ephraim to the “stick” of Judah  in order to make them “one stick” by the cross or Taw!

The stick of Ephraim was the stick that he carried!
The stick of Judah was already standing there!
Matthew 11
28 Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Two oxen that are “yoked” together.

The Burden or Yoke of Ephraim Made Easy & Light

The Ten Northern Tribes of Yisra’el who were divorced by God became known as“Ephraim” because it was Joseph’s son Ephraim who became their tribal leader according to (Genesis) 48:18-22.

Ephraim was born in Egypt and he was accustomed to being in bondage, or slavery to paganism and idolatry.
That is why often times in scripture, we see that Ephraim is likened unto a bull or a heifer who is under a heavy yoke of bondage (Hosea 10:11).
Genesis 21 : Isaac Is Born

1Then the LORD took note of Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had promised. 2So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him. 3Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac. 4Then Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. 5Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. 6Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh with me.” 7And she said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”

8The child grew and was weaned, and Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.

Bull vs Ox

  • The difference between a bull and a ox goes further than just how we refer to livestock.
  • Ox, or oxen, are actually used for different purposes than bulls.
  • An ox is typically used for things like pulling. In developing countries they are still, to this day, used for pulling a plow and harvesting crops.
  • The bull is how we refer to cattle (or cows) when we speak of the male gender of the species.
  • The ox is scientifically coded as a sub-genus of the cattle.
  • Technically, this makes each a related species like cousins, but does not make them an identical species.
  • With the exception of a few that are used for breeding, it is customary to castrate the ox.
  • Bulls, however, are almost never castrated.
  • The bulls found within livestock are used for breeding purposes, as well as for stock purposes.
  • This creates the need to produce more cattle at a faster rate.
  • Oxen are more controlled when it comes to breeding.
  • This is generally because they are simply not considered much of a popular food source, especially in developed countries.
  • The ox is typically larger than a bull.
  • Oxen used as ‘draft’, or pulling animals, are usually beyond the age of four, to ensure that they are at their bulkiest and fullest, when it comes to their size.
  • Alternatively, most bulls are smaller than the ox, and beef cattle are generally slaughtered before they reach the age of four.
